After months of planning, emailing and changing our minds here and there, our honeymoon has finally been booked and paid for
Of course I didn’t do it by myself. The idea of trawling websites for flights and connecting flights and then booking the accommodation online was a bit too daunting for me.
This is where Kristy came into the picture. She used to work for Flight Centre. I basically handed over a list of what we preferred and where we wanted to stay and let Kristy do the rest.
Our first stop will be Phuket. We’ve got our accomodation booked at the La Flora Resort Patong where we’ll be staying for 4 days. We’ve already lined up a tattoo session at the Smile Tattoo Patong Beach.
These guys have had some great reviews for their work from all over the world, so it was just too good an opportunity to miss making use of their talents when it came to our new tattoos.
From Phuket, we’ll head to Koh Samui and stay at the Sareeraya Villas and Suites resort. Now this is a resort I can’t wait to see in person. If you have the chance, then check out the pictures of this place. It looks like heaven! I’m going to see if they can help me plan a beach side, candle light dinner for Phuong and I once we get there. Our suite even has it’s own outdoor jacuzzi.
Next stop will be Ho Chi Minh city or “Saigon” as I more often remember it as. Our base here will be the Majestic Saigon Hotel, though only for 3 days before we make a quick trip to Nha Trang so we can check out their beaches and the Vin Pearl Resort. Oh and we’ll be staying at the Novotel Nha Trang. Vin Pearl from what I can gather is a resort and amusement park all in one.
After Nha Trang, we’ll make our way back to Ho Chi Minh city for another 4-5 days so that we can spend some time sight seeing and meeting a few of Phuong’s family. He hasn’t been back to Vietnam for so long that it’ll be something altogether new to him as well.
After all the months of planning, hard work, stress and frustration, we’ll be able to finally sit back, relax and give ourselves a pat on the back for pulling of such a big milestone in our lives.
So excited about this trip. It’ll be the longest holiday I’ve taken in years! 4 glorious weeks spent away from the daily grind of early morning wake-ups and work.
Asia here we come!
