Thieves have broken into the car of a Canadian couple and stolen their rings – the night before their wedding.
While the bride (known only as Jessica), her groom and their bridal party were enjoying a pre-wedding dinner at a Calgary restaurant, their car was broken into and, among other things, her precious wedding bands were robbed.
Also stolen were clothes and the maid of honour’s laptop which contained more than 3000 family photos.
A heartbroken Jessica (pictured above) told CTV Calgary that her wedding ring is a family heirloom that was passed down from her grandmother.
The ring, made from white and yellow gold was more than 60 years old and irreplaceable.
“(It was) my grandmother’s wedding ring, the other stuff is just stuff, but I can’t get that back,” Jessica told CTV news Calgary.
“I phoned every pawn shop from here to Timbuktu, and I’m going to drive around and hopefully it turns up somewhere,” says Tina, Jessica’s Maid of Honour. “I’m just hoping someone gets a conscience.”
