Knowing Jess has great taste, I bought her a temporary ring for when I popped the question, but always intended on buying her a ‘forever’ ring that we could shop for together.
We visited so many jewellery stores but couldn’t find the perfect “forever” ring.
We were almost convinced this was our only option until a friend of Jess’ told us about Kalfin.

Shopping for a ring that I am going to wear for the rest of my life was quite a daunting experience, and I now have a lot of respect for guys who do it by themselves!
Not knowing anything about the 5 C’s or what that expression even meant, we had varying experiences in different stores. We had helpful assistants and some not-so-helpful assistants… I kept on thinking, ‘what if I choose the wrong one????’
Well, after a lot of ‘ Internet research’ (ok, a lot of Googling diamond ring images!), I finally decided on a style and quickly learned that it was called a cushion cut diamond with a halo claw setting.
Now that we had the lingo down pat, we just needed to find someone to design it properly, and, of course, make it!
In the end we chose a jeweller called Kalfin who were recommended by a friend. They were so helpful and understanding and it just made the entire experience a pleasure. My ring is even better than what I pictured!!
