This is what happens when an artist marrying on New Year’s Eve whips up her own wedding invitations!
Rosi from Tasmania, who runs the Hijacked Planet blog, is marrying the love of her live, Mat, on New Year’s eve this year. She’s an artist and wanted to add her own special and very unique touch to her precious wedding invitations, so she set about making them herself.
One her blog, she writes, “I’ve been telling myself that a lot of people who opt for handmade/homemade invitations tear into the design process with the same mixture of admirable optimism and deranged naivety as I did.
She adds, “After many, many hours spent on Pinterest, wading through hundreds of interesting, creative, time-consuming, expensive, over the top and intricate design ideas, I finally concluded that 1. my expectations of myself were way too high (even if not necessarily out of reach), and 2. a simple design that is easy to print, and a short, cheap list of materials was what we really had in mind.”
After a little experimentation, she came up with the idea below. Each one takes only a few minutes, a little watered down acrylic paint and, of course, a little imagination, which this bride-to-be has in spades!
They’re “easy and fun to make,” says Rosi, “I love visiting people and seeing these on their fridge!”
We want one for our fridge, too, Rosi!
