For a couple that never intended to marry, Lisa Lanini and David Ryan are sure glad they did.
“We absolutely adore each other and respect each other as best friends but we never intended on getting married as we didn’t feel it was necessary,” explains the bride, 27. “The wedding was more about bringing all those people together who have had huge influences on our lives as a couple and are truly exceptional friends.” And so they did choosing a destination to remember.
David, 30, proposed to his girlfriend on holiday two years earlier after they both ended up in hospital! “I slipped on a rock and sliced both feet and David dislocated his shoulder trying to save me,” recalls Lisa. It was on their recovery walk, Lisa in bandages and David in a sling, that David popped the question out of the blue.
The mountains provided an amazing backdrop for the couple’s French Alps wedding on June 13, 2015. Their ceremony at Lac Montriond has “literally the best views ever”, says Lisa, and their reception at Chalet Eira basically lasted for days! “The team very kindly allowed us to use the Chalet as if it were our own home – it came in handy when we all grabbed our duvets and had a pyjama day and takeaway pizzas the day after it all came to an end,” explains Lisa.

David and his groomsmen were smartly suited up by Next Retail Ltd.
Lisa praised their photographer saying, “Honestly, our day wasn’t that glamorous but Charlotte well and truly delivered.”
“We were overjoyed by how our friends loved their experiences in the alps – taking part in many outdoor activities and making new friends,” smiles Lisa.
