Positioned on the riverbanks of the Thames, the water laps towards the handsome Trafalgar Tavern and creates an enviable setting for a wedding. The Grade II listed building boasts regency windows and magnificent maritime themed interiors.

The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich is a characterful riverfront gastropub that suits a more relaxed and carefree style of wedding. Its prime position on the Thames has been a popular bolthole for generations of Londoners, including notable novelists like Charles Dickens. The location also lends itself to arriving by boat, and many couples choose to cruise eastwards from Westminster Pier. As they arrive in style for their wedding celebrations, they’ll be greeted by the towering statue of Nelson, which continues the maritime theme. Once settled inside, the wedding party will be treated to a flavoursome affair, from canapes with a contemporary twist to gourmet main courses, accompanied by a wide selection of real ales and wines to match the menu.
The pub is firmly rooted in the present day, but its interior decor harks back to earlier days, when the public house was built in 1837. Inside, the opulent chandeliers, naval ornaments and quaint staircase make charming backdrops to your wedding day album. A popular celebratory shot is often taken as the couple climb the stairs, showered in confetti. The primary function suite is the regal Nelson Room, which fits up to 200 seated guests and 350 standing. The flexible space is stripped back to a simple classical design, so you can dress it how you wish to make it your own. The experienced events coordinators will run through what’s possible and help you with every step of the planning process.
It was perfect, the venue is beautiful with stunning views across the Thames, the staff were friendly and efficient, the food was delicious. Afterwards we all went down to the late bar, what an atmosphere! I can't recommend this place highly enough, thank you for making our day so special.
Fantastic pub, located just by the water, you’re always granted an incredible view of London, whether you sit inside or outside. The interior decor is incredible, filled with art and antiques. The selection of alcoholic beverages is great, from draft beers to their large gin selection. Will be back again soon.
Excellent venue ,the food was tasty ,well cooked, good variety, the staff were well trained and the service well organised.
Of course the position of the venue on the bank of the Thames in Greenwich provides an idyllic backdrop for the wedding photos.
Lovely wedding venue. There's a car park about a minute up the road, and on the street outside the Naval college.
It looks like a typical big old building outside, but the interior is fantastic with lots of historic features.
There's a decent selection of drinks at the bar, with indoor and outside seating areas and nice views across the river. The bar staff were friendly and efficient.
The venue upstairs is brilliant, with a private bar, lounge, balconies, toilets, cloakroom and main hall. The wedding was well organised and comfortable. The wedding breakfast was first class, every dish looked and tasted great, and the serving staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us.
We had a really nice time here and thought it was a great venue to have a good time with family and friends.
I can't think of a single issue we had with anything, and would happily recommend it as a venue for any event.
The day that everything went so right...Perfectly in fact. We booked the upstairs room at the Trafalgar Tavern. So despite it feeling maybe a bit too big and formal for our 65 guests we made the reservation as they were offering us a reasonable deal. They assigned an event manager who made it easy to plan, and when the big day came - well - what can I say, other than I must have been walking around with my eyes shut the first time around. We were lucky with the weather as the gorgeous floor to ceiling windows were open, bringing the outdoors in as we trod those beautiful stripped floorboards. My expectations had been fairly low with the food due to my having an aversion to mass catering, but the Trafalgar proved me wrong again there too, the food really was of a very high standard and with excellent service too. any of our guests have travelled to beautiful places in the world and are not easily phased but they really did see the Trafalgar at its best, and we received so much unsolicited positive feedback. We have been going to the Trafalgar on and off for many years and it’s shown itself once again to be a true one off. A big thank you to those that made our day special.
Recently held our wedding ceremony & reception at the Trafalgar, for about 100 people. We couldn't have been happier with the venue; the service was friendly and helpful, bar well stocked and served, everything ran smoothly thanks to Jade our coordinator. They were happy to accommodate various requests of ours. Our guests couldn't have been happier with the food, space to socialise and the balconies on the river.
Held the wedding reception here and it was amazing. We had all of the top floor which overlooks the Thames. There is a small balcony which is lovely. The function room is beautiful with lovely chandeliers and plenty of room for dining and then dancing after. The separate bar room is just off the main function room which allows the guests to flow through from one room to the other. The staff were attentive and accommodating. The food was lovely. Lovely venue for a wedding.
Fantastic wedding venue. My wife and I had our wedding reception here last month. The Trafalgar has a beautiful suite of rooms, including a bar with squishy arm chairs, which was great for people to chat before the meal. The main room itself, with views of the Thames, is spacious and classy. There is lots of room for people to sit and relax, but also a good size dance floor so everyone is happy! All of our guests were very complimentary of the food and setting, which was very reasonably priced in the package offered. I should also mention the staff were extremely competent in dealing with our requests for the day. Would recommend.
Had the wedding reception at the Trafalgar Tavern on Saturday 9 April. It was a huge success, and almost all the guests commented on what a lovely reception it had been, in such a fantastic location. The staff were friendly, worked very hard, and the food was excellent - both the starter and dessert canapes, the main courses, and the food provided later in the evening. I understand that Jade who was the person who organised the event was very helpful. Altogether a wonderful place for a wedding reception.
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Trafalgar Tavern on Friday 19th Feb. This venue is absolutely stunning and ideal for a London wedding, with amazing views overlooking the Thames. The food is excellent. All our guests commented upon the meal, many saying it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! The staff worked very hard setting up the venue the day before, and were very attentive throughout the day ensuring we had everything we needed. From the moment of booking, the Events Manager, Jade, was on hand to answer all our questions and guide us through the process. Everything we asked was catered for. We were able to have everything we wanted - the answer was always 'yes, no problem'! It was very reassuring to know that Jade was there on the day as well, making sure all ran smoothly. We cannot thank her enough.
We highly recommend the Trafalgar for all events, especially a wedding. We had a relatively small ceremony and wedding breakfast, but with around 200 guests in the evening. The venue seemed ideal for both the small amount of guests and for when lots of people arrived. The Trafalgar has many stunning features and was a talking point among our guests. We are very happy that our special day went so well, and look forward to many anniversary meals at the Trafalgar!
