Having run a dressmaking business for the past 20 years, specialising in bespoke fittings and alterations of outfits, wedding dresses and designed clothing we have great experience in this field. We meet many brides in our fitting room and help to ensure they look stunning on their biggest day.

We have had many conversations with would-be brides over the years about all kinds of wedding related matters and one question recurs over and over again: ‘How can I sell my wedding dress?’ This enquiry seems especially relevant in these straitened economic times.

Many brides have intimated to us that they would be more than happy to return the dress for a price – often the practical implications (size of the dress and space for storage etc.) together with the financial burden of the wedding, outweigh any sentimental considerations about keeping one’s wedding dress and the additional mountain of other wedding items.

We are also aware of the growing demand for used wedding dresses and other items in order to save money for the big day. This kind of sensible frugality can save a small fortune when it’s all added up, and who would notice any difference?
