For teenage sweethearts Kia Pedersen and Jeremy Faux, love blossomed over the pizza bar.

“Jeremy and I met when we worked together at a local pizza shop – I was a pizza maker and he was the delivery driver,” Kia, now 29, explains.

“We started living together after being together for about eight years and knew at this point that we were in it together for the long haul,” she adds.

For their 10th anniversary Jeremy, 31, surprised Kia with a romantic trip to Fiji, during which he popped the question. Kia’s response was, of course, yes, quickly followed by “what took you so long?”

The couple opted for a  venue close to home, settling on Perth’s picturesque Caversham House for their enchanted garden wedding on May 4, 2014.

With the ceremony and reception at the one venue, the couple’s 85 guests had nothing else to worry about except enjoy the day.

“We selected the venue because of the stunning landscaped gardens. We had the ceremony on the staircase which had quite a dramatic impact,” Kia says.

For the bride, a highlight was her flute teacher, Rebecca, and her trio playing during the ceremony and pre-dinner drinks. “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri was played for the bridesmaid procession and Kia walked down the aisle to Etta James’ “At Last”.

“Both songs were selected based on their reference to time to acknowledge the commitment and strength in our relationship before we got married,” Kia says.

“Our long-awaited day was an absolute fairy tale and has given us so many unforgettable memories…that we will treasure for a lifetime.”

The bride’s close friend Jemma, from Borrowed Beginnings, created floral designs of bright blooms, moss and lots of foliage.

“I felt quite strongly that I didn’t want a big dress until I tried one on and felt overwhelmingly bridal,” Kia says. She estimates she tried on more than 20 dresses before falling in love with this gorgeous David Tutera gown. “I loved all the crystals and the lace scalloped edges,” Kia says.

Kia credits Sarah from Takes The Cake for making her dream wedding cake a reality. Not only did it look fabulous, but the couple said it tasted amazing.
