DIY and online finds were the secret to success for Kirra Bush and Russell Muni’s garden wedding.
High school sweethearts Kirra and Russell, both 27, married on December 14, 2013 at Bridgeleigh Gardens, Wanneroo – the Perth suburb where they both grew up, and a venue that allowed them to have the ceremony and reception at the one place.
Sharing a casual celebration with their 115 family and friends was top of the agenda for the pair, but Kirra says her role as wedding planner also allowed her to get creative.
“I was a DIY and budget-conscious bride and I loved finding online deals,” she tells.
“If you have the time, shop online! I was obsessed with wedding planning and bought a lot of my bits and pieces online from trusted websites.”
Lifelike artificial flowers and affordable internet finds were able to rein in the budget, while Kirra could splurge on other items such as her showstopping Alfred Angelo gown.
Kirra teamed her elegant Alfred Angelo gown with a birdcage veil found on an eBay store and a floral headpiece from Etsy.
Kirra opted for real-touch bouquets from Shaye’s Bridal Boutique on Etsy. “In the end it was a good decision because it was a 42-degree day and real flowers may not have survived,” Kirra says.
