It wasn’t the first, or even the second, time Kimberley Morrison had spotted Luke Florido when she approached him.
“We had a couple of ‘near’ meetings before we officially met,” smiles Kimberley. “I saw Luke while he was working at Ikea and again at the local pub during our university years.” But on the third opportunity, she had the courage to say hello and as they say, the rest is history.
Luke was pretty cunning about making sure his proposal was a total surprise. “I had taken Luke out for his birthday to dinner at our favourite restaurant,” explains Kimberley. “When our dessert finally arrived there was a selection of yummy desserts along with a beautiful engagement ring. I was in total shock!”
Their vintage wedding for 110 on March 8, 2014 was “everything we could have hoped for”, Kimberley says. “The weather was amazing and we were surrounded by the most important people in our lives.”
Kimberley says although she and Luke are so different, they are a great balance. “He is extremely easy going and relaxed and has the most generous soul. He makes me so happy and I am so excited to spend the rest of our lives together,” she smiles.
“Michelle at Clear Couture was recommended to me by one of Luke’s relations. She made a beautiful custom gown and headpiece that was everything that I had dreamt of,” says Kimberley.
“We were lucky enough to have Luke’s cousin, Perry, sing at our wedding,” praises Kimberley. “He has an amazing voice and it was a lovely personal touch.”
“Kimberley is kind, generous and incredibly patient with everyone that crosses her path. She has the most beautiful heart. I feel very lucky to have met and married my soul mate,” Luke says of his bride.
