They say love is blind and perhaps that is why Ebony Preece and Reuben Steadman hit it off on their blind date.
“It all started with a blind date…and neither of us looked back,” smiles Ebony, 30. And what followed was the kind of marriage proposal that makes hearts soar! “Reuben [31] took me on a gorgeous hot air balloon ride over the Murray in the Riverland where I grew up,” says Ebony. “He proposed mid-flight and then followed up with a romantic breakfast.”
The pair planned for rain at the vintage wedding on August 31, 2013 in South Australia, but instead were greeted by a sunny, warm day. “Led by seven little flower girls and four stunning bridesmaids, we married at Carrick Hill under the gorgeous trees with a chandelier falling in the middle,” describes Ebony. Their 120 guests were treated to a high tea after the formalities.
An intimate reception with immediate family and the bridal party followed at the Stirling Hotel. “Every detail told the story of who we are as a couple and completely reflected our style,” says Ebony.
Reuben proposed with a dress ring and then took Ebony shopping to make her own choice.
Reuben says Ebony is passionate and driven. She says her groom is relaxed and patient.
