It’s the delicate touches and soft design that creates the perfect romantic wedding.
Bride Jayde Thompson, 29, took charge of the design for her wedding to Dean Walsh, 28, something she thoroughly enjoyed doing. “The lead up to our wedding was an exciting time of planning and carefully designing our special day,” says Jayde.
“Everything tied in together so perfectly,” she explains of the November 2, 2013 wedding in West Perth. “From my elegant ivory lace Henry Roth gown and blush pink one-shoulder bridesmaid gowns to the baby’s breath and rose flower arrangements and delicate pink three-tier wedding cake.” The stunning desert was decorated with fabric roses, greenery and hand-piped embroidery.
While guests were pampered with treats like the white chocolate cake, they were also given natural soaps as a gift and used a “message in the bottle” style guest book. “Guests placed cards in two white vintage birdcages on the gift table,” says Jayde. On top of that they were supplied emergency toiletries in the restroom!
Tables were stylishly decorated with flowers in vintage cream jugs and mirror bases with crystal tea lights.
“We also displayed generation photos of our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents on their wedding days which added a personal touch and focal point for guests,” smiles Jayde.
“As we were married in a garden my lace dress caught leaves all through the bottom of the train,” laughs Jayde.
Jayde and Dean’s wedding was a “dream” with highlights including the tranquil backdrop of Harold Boas Gardens.
Jayde says brides-to-be should plan everything in advance to avoid stress.
“We felt like royalty as we entered the gates to Government House for bridal party photos in the wonderful gardens,” smiles Jayde.
