Ma’Kai Creative was started by myself (Vicki) a few years ago when my best friend got married. As one of her bridesmaids, I wanted to help her out and make her day really special. I’m a graphic designer with 15 years experience so it made sense to design her wedding invitations for her.
Based on a style that she liked we created the perfect invitations for her wedding. We used the colours from her flowers and a rustic feel that complemented the venue. I also designed matching place names, table plan, favours and signs.
Everybody loved the wedding stationery and I had so much positive feedback from them that I decided this was something I could do on the side of my design job.
The style of my invitations reflects my clients, what they like, their budget and current trends. Couples often come to me with a basic idea of what they would like, or a Pinterest board, which is fantastic for inspiration, and we work closely together to create something that encompasses both their personalities and the elements from the big day. All of my stationery is digitally printed, and couples can even pick what type of paper they want!
I love designing custom wedding stationery, it’s so personal to the couple and totally unique, that's why all of my invitations are bespoke. It’s really exciting working with couples, either in person or even just by email, to grow ideas and bring them to life.
