Welcome! You may be surprised to find out that Gilly Gray Bridal is a mother and daughter team of passionate and friendly seamstresses. We are based in London where we create custom made flower girl dresses and accessories.
To start from the very beginning we must start with Gilly Gray herself! Gilly was born in Singapore when houses there only had one storey and chewing gum was legal. After a few years she moved to Devon where she grew up and began to learn the mystical ways of sewing and dress making.
Making her way in the world Gilly began to make and sell handmade childrens clothes at the Pannier market, where local mothers would jostle for her best knits and her delicately designed dresses. Living by the sea spurred Gilly’s love of nature, which now reflects in the Gilly Gray designs using raw silk and beautiful unbleached cottons.
With the arrival of Freya Gray, Gilly moved to London and started her career as a wedding dress designer and maker.
Gilly spent many days and nights measuring and cutting silks and satins to make stunning wedding dresses for beautiful brides only to be sometimes scuppered by Freya's small child obsession with silky bits of material. If left for just a moment Freya would cut off the ends of the dresses and sneak them into her silky collection.
