me and jai got married april 2ND of april in Mt Barker Adelaide Hills south australia. I wanted a modern australian wedding on a budget nothing too over the top
my husband loves to wear his trademark akubra hat-once got wedding planning started and asked what he would wear he said his akubra. things started from there. thought native flowers would look really good. it was really hard to find pictures of such bouquets but my florist had great ideas and did an awesome job. i guess the theme just fell together in a way-I saw a picture of a large lamington cake and thought why not do individual lamingtons so hired a cake stand and got lamingtons from local bakery. the 7 tier cake only cost about $150 and looked stunning. i made the cake toppers myself bought the kangaroos and decorated them. my dress was also australian although it was a bit of a fluke a MR k brand with alterations from a dress maker. I didnt want to spend over a $1000 dollars on a dress my cost me $365 with alterations which i was proud of. I walked dpwn the aisle to country australian artist Adam Brands song “words cannot say” a favourite song of me and jais. In the church bunched gum leaves with ribbon for down the aisle and used black candles. i had a afternoon tea at the church straight after the wedding for all guests.i decorated with teapots, flowers and gum leaves. A smaller intimate reception at my barker golf course at 6PM i used bowls with candles gum nuts and gum leaves as decoration at the golf course and a black and white decorations. Bonbernerrie was a lolly buffet-used some australian items, timtams and minties, finding ideas for australian wedding was quite difficult as there wasnt many ideas out there-suprisingly as we live in Australia
