The Royal Wedding is finally over and it’s everything we could have imagined. While all eyes may have been peeled to what Meghan Markle was wearing for her big day, we were focused on what her headwear looked like.
The new Duchess of Sussex donned Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, loaned to her by The Queen herself.
This was paired with a gorgeous five-metre veil designed by Givenchy designer Clare Waight Keller, which featured hand-embroidered floral designs to represent each of the 53 Commonwealth countries.
But one thing we’re focused on is how to recreate Meghan natural, elegant chignon from hairdresser Serge Normant.
Celebrity hairstylist and Philips Haircase Ambassador Paloma Rose Garcia tells us how to recreate Meghan’s wedding look.
Get the look
A French chignon or French roll is a hairstyle which not only looks sophisticated, neat and classy, but also very complicated. It is actually quite easily executed and is the perfect look for a formal dinner, event, or of course a wedding. Hair accessories such as a tiara or veil work very well with this hairstyle and help to keep everything neatly in place.
The day before, blow your hair, running your fingers through it rather than a brush to enhance natural waves. The Philips MoistureProtect Hair Dryer works well for this, and if you have particularly dry hair, use the moisture button to further protect it.
With your fingers, gently brush all hair back as if you are going to put it in a mid-ponytail. Follow your fingers through until you reach the ends and start to roll hair to the left or right side until it rolls to your head.
You might need some help to pin the twist securely to the rest of your hair, so get one of your bridesmaids or family members to help with the look.
The important final step is to finish with some holding spray. It is easy for small pieces of hair to fall loosely around your face, which many noticed happened to Meghan on her big day.
