If you love precious stones and you love cake, you’ll adore this incredibly realistic amethyst quartz wedding cake, which is made entirely out of edible sugar and therefore every bit can be eaten!
The dazzling visual and technical masterpiece and was created by Rachel from Intricate Icings Cake Design, and the amazing cake took 16 hours to create.
The main feature of the three-tiered creation is the 3D geode, (a geode is a round hollow cavity which contains crystals such as amethysts), and the deep and rich purple colour of the quartz within the geode is encompassed by a striking vignette of ice-blue, gold, and silver.
We love the tangible textures, the touch of glittering gold leaf, and the contrast of the sharp quartz against the smooth surface of the royal icing.
