So, you’ve agreed to take part in the wild ride that is marriage. You’ve found someone to share your life with and who will stand up with you in front of your closest family and friends and confess their love to you. Congrats! It’s pretty amazing that you found someone that you think is worth marrying. Here are 11 signs that you’re marrying your soulmate:

You respect them

You respect and value them and their opinion, and value their opinion over the opinion of others. Even if you disagree with their view, you still respect it. You respect their autonomy over themselves and not as your property.

You both have empathy for each other’s emotions

When they are sad or in pain, you feel it with them. Instead of sympathising with them, you put yourself in their shoes and really feel what they are feeling.

You both have your own interests

And it’s okay! Maybe your partner likes sports and you like gaming, or you like trashy reality tv and they like baking cakes. As long as you both support each other in our activities, it’s totally fine that you don’t spend every waking hour together.

You have complete trust in them

You should feel secure and protected by your soulmate! You trust your soulmate to protect you and your feelings.

You prioritise one another

You both put the other first in life, above all else. Of course, you need to eat, sleep and breathe but you put them in front of other activities, especially when they need you.
