The only question was which fantasy theme they’d choose given their love of everything from Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who to cosplay and Dungeons & Dragons.
But, when they discovered Dunafon Castle, in their home state of Colorado was free for their wedding date, there was only one choice, well, two, actually: Game of Thrones and The Lord of Rings, of course.
The bride, a hypnotist, wore a medieval-inspired gown with elven touches, including gossamer-like draping sleeves and layers of copper embroidery.
The groom, an actor, donned a hand-made suit of armor (in dragon green, no less), which took more than a year to make. His accessories included alchemy bottles, a wand and a copper flagon.
The couple wed in a pagan ceremony in the grounds of the castle and prize for best costume, at an event where everyone looked most authentic, went to a couple who dressed as Pan and a Dryad, complete with wings and horns.
