The hunt for the perfect dress

My idea of the perfect wedding dress went through a few evolutions. I started with a long, strapless mermaid gown with a lace overlay and a small train.  Then I decided my dream wedding gown was a sleeveless chiffon gown with hand beading on the bodice and a v neck.

At one point I think I may have been entertaining the idea of “bridal trackie dacks”. All I wanted was a pretty, elegant dress with lace detailing, that wasn’t too poufy, had a vintage feel to it and made me feel like a princess – is that asking too much?!

Then one night as I was trawling through my wedding blogs, I came across a tea length gown that was perfect, it had all the elements I was after lace details, texture, elegance, vintage elegance without the pouf!

But no where on this blog did it say who the dress was designed by or even a name…So I did what any good (obsessed?) bride would do, I scoured the net for countless hours – asked people on forums, looked through 600 pages of Google images and then gave up – sort of…..

I saved the image and moved on. Then one day the stars aligned and I found a blog that mentioned  an American Designer called Justin Alexander. After looking at his website my heart starting jumping – you know the feeling you get when your lotto numbers start coming up? It was very similar. The backgrounds looked suspiciously like my dream gown’s background…I found my dress and then did what every bride does at least once – I second guessed myself.

Enter the forum gals and after a few posts and some great feedback I was back on cloud nine and haven’t looked back.
