Miley's getting married

Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus are engaged to marryFormer child star turned pop singer Miley Cyrus is the talk of Tinseltown after becoming enaged this week – at the tender age of just 19.

Miley, whose role as TV’s Hannah Montana turned her into a teen starlet in 2006, is set to marry her boyfriend of three years, Aussie Hunger Games hunk, Liam Hemsworth.

Miley met Liam, 22, on the set of the 2009 romance The Last Song and, when asked by People magazine how she felt about being engaged, her response was an enthusiastic  “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam.”

She later tweeted, “Thank you for all the love today. I’m happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true.”

Miley’s Dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, has said he’s delighted his little girl is engaged, but he does have reservations about her age and told “All I ever hoped for as a daddy was to see my kids reach their dreams. To find happiness, peace of mind, and someday know true love.”

People magazine reports Liam poppd the question on May 31 with a handcrafted, $100,000 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweller Neil Lane.

Though no date has been set, Miley’s thrilled with her engagement, tweeting, “Heaven is a place on earth” the next day.

She added to that in the past few days, tweeting “I love you more today than yesterday but I love you less today than I will tomorrow,” and again, “Life is beautiful.”

What do you think? Is 19 too young to get married? There was a time when 19 would have been just right, old even, but not anymore!

My husband and I started dating at 19, engaged at 21, married at 22, first baby at 23 and now at 24 have baby number 2 on the way and have bought a house. We were told that we were too young, but if you know it’s right, then why wait?

I totally agree with you two lovely ladies, I am currently 19 (same as Kaitlin) my fiance is 23 and have been told repeatedly that we are too young. We have lived together for a year and are totally independent just because we arn’t in our mid 20’a-30’s doesn’t mean we have no sense or don’t understand the huge devotion we are making to each other. Each to their own but please don’t judge a whole book by just one cover ! :)

i am 22 now but got engaged at 21 and had my first child at 19. with my now fiance and we couldnt be happier. i think age is just  a number and if your happy why wait a few years to feel what you already feel now…

I was engaged at 19. When you know, you know. They have been dating for 3 years as well so its not like they just started. Plus it’s no ones business but their own. I am very happy for them both to find true love at a young age
