The staff of hit talk-show The View had twice the reason to celebrate last week with not one, but two weddings.
Two of the show’s four hosts, Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd (who has a recurring spot on 30 Rock), both wed within days of each other.
Sherri, 44, married TV writer Lamar Sally, while Joy, 68, wed Steve Janowitz, her partner of 29 years, in a low-key, private event in New York.
Sherri’s Chicago wedding was less public. Her bridal party comprised eight bridesmaids, including fellow hostess Elisabeth Hasselbeck and host of TV’s Clean House, Niecy Nash and her big day was the culmination of months of preparation, most of it filmed for a reality TV show, which will air on cable TV later this month.
“Second chances really do happen, and I got mine!” Sherri gleefully told Life and Style magazine.
In the days prior to her wedding, she also Tweeted, “My last day as a single woman. Thank you Jesus for being in the midst of all this. Gotta get sleep.”
It is rumoured the show’s other co-host Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters were not at either wedding. Ouch!
