Pop diva Mariah Carey and her hubby of five years, DJ/rapper Nick Cannon, have celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary by renewing their vows at Disneyland.
It was couple’s fifth vow renewal ceremony in as many years and the most extravagant yet.
The lavish bash was held after hours at the iconic Californian theme park but involved shutting down the park for a few hours to allow the couple’s 250 guests to enjoy the park’s various rides and attractions.
Mariah kicked off her ceremony by driving down Main Street in an illuminated pumpkin-shaped carriage – complete with footmen.
She was met by Nick and the couple’s twins, Monroe and Moroccan before walking down the aisle in a suitably romantic and ruffled princess-style white gown, topped off with a stunning tiara comprising a vine of flowers and an equally blingalicious diamond necklace.
Hubby Nick looked dapper in his black and white outfit, which looked remarkably similar to that worn by Prince Charming in the classic wedding scene of Disney’s 1950s animated version of Cinderella.
The event was a double celebration that coincided with Monroe and Moroccan’s second birthday. The kids looked equally dreamy in mini outfits that matched those of their parents.
The bride kept her fans updated all day, tweeting and posting messages and videos (see below) from various points in the day.
She even poked a little fun at herself and her diva-ish reputation, tweeting “Slowly making our way to the freezing cold guests #donthatemebecauseimasiva #cinderella” and, later, “”Happy 5th(!!!!!!) Anniversary to the Best Husband in All The Land & 2 years ago pon de delivery…(sic)”
The couple appear is obviously blissfully happy with Nick telling BreezyMama a few weeks earlier, “Honestly, I don’t want to have to knock on wood or anything, but that’s probably the easiest part of my life – being married to my dream girl. Whenever everything else is going crazy, it’s like, ‘Wow. I have someone who loves me unconditionally.” Last year, for their fourth wedding anniversary, the couple renewed their vows atop Paris’ Eiffel Tower, so who knows where they’ll renew their vows next year?
