Oscar-winning actor George Clooney and his high-flying barrister fiancee Amal Alamuddin have arrived in Venice for their star-studded four-day-long nuptials.
The couple touched down in Venice and were taken by water taxi (one aptly named Amore) to Clooney’s favourite Venetian hotel, Cipriani.
It is believed they will have two ceremonies, one on Saturday and another civil ceremony on Monday.
George, 53, and Amal, 36, have been engaged since April with the groom-to-be giving his beloved barrister a giant engagement ring estimated to be worth more than $800,000.
Their four-day wedding weekend is reported to be costing about €2.5m or AUD$3.6 million.
They’ve already held their rehearsal dinner and, as you can see below, the bride-to-be looked stunning in a flowing red waterfall gown.
Among the many stars who have already arrived in Venice for the wedding are Matt Damon, Ellen Barkin and Anna Wintour.
The groom is believed to be donning a simple and elegant Armani suit, while the bride is rumoured to be wearing an Alexander McQueen gown.
More to come…
