It may have been love at first sight for Jenny Atterbury and Frankie Beamand, but Frankie’s career in the army meant it wasn’t all plain sailing for the East Midlands pair.
“Three months into our relationship Frank was sent out of the country for four months,” Jenny, 24, says.
“I was determined to make it work. I wrote him a letter every single day and I was forever sending him parcels… we spoke on the phone for hours through the night and by the time he came home I like to think he had definitely fallen for me!”
The couple soon moved in together and Jenny describes herself as “over the moon” when Frankie, 27, proposed.
The couple held their Valentine’s Day wedding in 2015 at Callow Hall, Ashbourne, and Jenny says they loved the planning process.
“Planning our wedding was such a lovely experience, brainstorming different ideas together, working on little projects and putting our own mark on the day,” she says.
Forty friends and family witnessed the intimate ceremony, with a further 40 guests taking part in the evening celebrations, which took place in the venue‘s grand rooms.
“It really did turn out to be the most perfect day,” Jenny says.
