Londoners Cathy Campbell and Toby Sibbering met at their local – on the same day three years later they made it official in their vintage pub wedding.
“We met in a pub the day after William and Kate’s Royal wedding,” says Cathy, 36. “It was a real Sliding Doors moment as I was so hungover; I had originally cancelled lunch with a friend but luckily that friend convinced me to pull myself together and make it out of the house.
She adds, “Thank goodness she convinced me to go out that day otherwise Toby and I may never have met!”
Cathy and Toby, 42, wanted to keep things low-key and mirror the laid-back pub setting where they had first met. “We didn’t go for much formality – a civil ceremony in a pub with great food and fun entertainment,” the bride says.
The pair married at Paradise by way of Kensal Green, a beautiful London pub, on May 1, 2014 in front of 75 friends and family.
Twenty more guests enjoyed the evening celebrations at the same venue, with plenty of entertainment to keep people on their feet.
“The band was actually a Rockaoke band so our guests could get up on stage to sing,” Cathy explains.
“It was such a great success, you felt like such a rock star singing on stage with the band.”

Cathy opted for a simple Alice Temperley gown and teamed it with sexy silver snakeskin Louboutins.
Simple, pastel blooms combined with vintage tableware gave Cathy the shabby chic look she was after.
