When it came to their special day, Adrian Pitham and Richard Cole wanted to keep it simple.
When choosing a wedding venue, the couple wanted a luxurious space with an edge of glamour and historic department store Fortnum & Mason fitted the bill perfectly.
“We both knew we wanted something intimate but also a day to remember,” Adrian says.
With just four guests in tow the Essex pair held their service at Mayfair Library on May 23, 2015.
“Even though there were only six of us, we wanted something special for our celebration after the marriage,” Adrian said of their Fortnum & Mason wedding. A private dining room at the Picacadilly venue was just what they were after.
Photographs were taken en route before the entourage was treated to a champagne afternoon tea at Fortnum’s Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon and then dinner was served in private dining room, The Crypt.
“We had the most perfect day with our closest friends and created so many wonderful memories,” Adrian says.
The couple stayed in London for their wedding night and Adrian says it helped turn their wedding day into a celebratory weekend.

“We wore Diesel Black Gold jackets with Vivienne Westwood matching bow ties,” says Adrian.
Adrian and Richard met a decade ago. Adrian surprised the love of his life with a Paris proposal under the Eiffel Tower.
“Our bond grows stronger by the day and quite simply… we complete each other,” Adrian says.
Richard’s advice for other couples planning their big day is simple: “Do it exactly the way you want it to be. It is your wedding after all,” he says.
