A wedding is such an important rite of passage. As well as the legal and public declaration of a couples’ wish to be together and grow together, there is the more personal, emotional and spiritual aspect of this ceremony.
For the legal aspects you need to give notice of your intention to marry at your local register office and choose a time and date to make your legal declarations before the registrar, who will enter the marriage in the register and give you your marriage certificate. Most people choose to do this before their special personal ceremony, either on the same day or a few days beforehand. The legal declarations can be incorporated into the special ceremony if you wish.
What is most important to me as a wedding celebrant, is that the ceremony is meaningful to you as the two people at the heart of everything that happens and that it contains all the elements which you yourselves feel are essential in making this special day your own. This may include aspects of different faiths and beliefs, eclectic ceremonial forms which reflect your individual needs; anything and everything which will make this day memorable for you and your family and friends.
Every aspect of the ceremony can be a reflection of your individuality, including what you wish to wear. I am personally happy also to dress appropriately for the type of ceremony you wish me to conduct.
