“We don’t believe that we know everything about love but do believe that we have found a way to make it work, something special between us that we will continue to build on for the rest of our lives.”
That beautiful quote is from Zoe, who married her beau, and father of her two children, Ricki on August 10, 2018 with 100 guests. The couple, both aged 31, met 12 years ago.
Their ceremony at Electric Picture Palace in Southwood is a unique spot Zoe was very excited to be married at. “We were married on the stage facing out to our guests, it was like we were in our own production,” she recalls. “We created a slide show of photos old and new that included us and all of our guests which we played as they were entering the cinema and waiting for us to arrive. This was of course accompanied by popcorn!”
Afterwards the guests were treated to games at the beach, followed by a reception at Wood Farm Barn in Benacre. “The reception venue was a blank canvas, but it was filled with colour from our beautiful flowers, handmade items and creations such as a wooden boat, anchor, beach hut, signs and photo board,” says the bride.

The bride’s shoes from Rachel Simpson were a pop of colour with her gown.
Zoe had this gown altered into a “high-low” style.
The old cinema provided the couple’s guests a unique experience.
Guests were treated to games seaside between the ceremony and reception.
“We ate ice-cream on the beach, in the sunshine, and rode a carousel in our suit and dress!” recalls the bride.
