Romance took time for Emma Ward and Martin Levett.
“Martin and I met through my close friend Nicola, who is married to Martin’s brother,” Emma, 34, explains. “Martin and I started out as friends, we got on very well but when we first met we were both already partnered up so our romance was a slow burner.”
After finally getting together, Martin, 37, proposed by the river after a romantic dinner in London.
“Martin would say I kept him waiting for ages for a response… I was just in shock but I managed to get the word ‘yes’ out. After I answered there was a cheer from a small crowd that had stopped to see my response,” Emma says.
After a short engagement the Whitton, London couple held their classic wedding on November 14, 2015 in front of 80 guests. Elegant Windsor venue Beaumont Estate provided the classic backdrop to the big day.
“I had decided early on that I just wanted something very simple and elegant,” Emma says. “I had lots of candles as it was winter, with cream and blue flowers and ivy.”
A “selfie station”, the couple’s DIY photo booth, with a polaroid frame, prop box and selfie stick added the fun touch to the reception, which also included a retro band and DIY candy buffet.
“We loved every minute of our wedding it was an amazing day spent with friends and family,” Emma says.

Martin and his groomsmen looked sharp in classic three-piece suits from Marks and Spencer.
“The main thing we love is our ability to make each other laugh, we are constantly giggling over something silly” Emma says.
Neutral tones with a touch of blue were a hallmark of the elegantly-styled reception.
A DIY photo booth provided plenty of entertainment for the night-time celebrations.
