Sandra and Alex keep it ‘short and sweet’ for bohemian wedding in Romania

Sandra and Alex, both aged 31, didn’t mean to fall in love.

Alex was planning a trip to the US, and Sandra had no intentions of leaving home. “But from the minute we talked, I knew there was something true in him and I didn’t have to act like a higher class version of me,” recalls Sandra. “We met, and our weirdness matched.”

A “short and sweet” proposal was followed be an equally simple bohemian wedding. “We chose a simple countryside location enough to fit 150 people and our priorities were simple; good music, good food and lots of alcohol,” smiles the bride.

The couple didn’t need to lash out on decorations as the venue, Heldsdorf Mansion in Romania was beautiful without. The main thing they splashed out on was an orchestra in the garden. “After the wedding we were so please how everything turned out that we wanted to do it again!” laughs Sandra.

Sandra says their photographer helped her feel comfortable and took on their suggestions for images.

The bride says Heldsdorf Mansion needed no decorating as it was stunning as is.

The couple invited 250 guests.

Guests were treated to sweets as their favours.
