Once in a lifetime: Lauren and Rose’s relaxed elegant wedding

Congrats to Lauren and Rose who’ve been crowned our June Wedding of the Month winners!
They are in the running for a second honeymoon to Italy’s ‘green heart’, Umbria.

From the moment they met, Lauren Cartwright and Rose Cunliffe knew that “this was it”.

“It was both obvious to us and everyone else around us,” Lauren, 24, says of meeting Rose, 26, online three years ago.

“It was a once in a lifetime love.”

Rose popped the question on the night the couple moved in together and, after first thinking they would wait a while, they stumbled on their perfect venue and began planning their relaxed elegant wedding.

They walked down the aisle at The West Mill, Darley Abbey, Derbyshire in front of 100 friends and family on February 16, 2017.

Seventy more guests joined in the evening celebrations at the same venue. Music was a centrepiece of the celebrations – the Notingham couple had walked down the aisle to a song recorded by Rose and a motown band kept everyone entertained in the evening.

“No words can actually describe the day, there was just a special feeling that everyone was feeding off,” Lauren says.

“People tell you ‘you will meet someone and they will change your life in a instant’ this couldn’t be more true.”

Lauren wore a backless ivory lace wedding dress and a handmade necklace, while Rose wore a silk gown with cinched waist.

Lauren and Rose decorated much of the venue themselves, with help from family and friends, and also brought in the assistance of a wedding stylist.

“We’ve not had it easy we’ve faced challenges and done so together and that doesn’t mean it’s all easy now but we’ve come a hell of a way,” Lauren says.

“We would both give anything to do the day again – but purely because of how fantastic it was. Truly the perfect day and wouldn’t change a single thing!” Lauren says.
