Bride Julie creates her and Tim’s 60s chic wedding from scratch

Julie and Tim's first breakfast date quickly turned into a shopping trip, lunch, walk, dinner, a beer and a fleeting peck before the last train.

Some years later, Tim says the pair's shared love of classic cars, the 60s, live music, design and making things inspired their 60s chic wedding theme.

Julie and Tim married on September 23, 2017 with a ceremony at Matlock County Hall and reception at Peak Rail in Derbyshire, Central England. 75 guests celebrated alongside the Blackpool couple during the day with an extra 65 joining in the evening.

Julie and Tim's wedding centred heavily on DIY elements. Julie designed her wedding dress, created their train-inspired invitations and RSVP cards, and even sourced 90 chairs, 50 crates, pallets  for the bar, table legs, bunting, plates, glasses, water bottles and table runners to decorate the venue. For the catering, Julie and Tim sourced as much as possible from local shops and even visited a friend in Paris to pick up cheese and wine!

"Over the week before the big day, Julie shuttled backwards and forwards in her Land Rover and trailer, moving all of the pieces into place. She always had the vision and final image in her head and worked day and night to achieve it."

The bride sourced and put together all of the wedding's flower arrangements herself.

As a team effort, Julie and her mother designed and created her stunning wedding dress.
