OVERVIEW
If you’re looking for a historic wedding venue that’s subtly modernised with up to date facilities, Dartmouth House in West London is an excellent choice. Combining its 19th Century heritage with modern event technology and AV equipment, this classical wedding venue in Mayfair has everything you need to host a flawless nuptial celebration.
When exclusively hired, Dartmouth House accommodates up to 150 seated guests, or individual rooms can be booked for fewer numbers. With this flexibility, the mansion house suits both small and mid-sized receptions. Another draw factor is its private and exclusive atmosphere on weekends, as from Monday to Friday, the building is home to the English Speaking Union. It will feel like your very own majestic residence, where you can add all your personal touches.
One of Dartmouth House’s most spectacular attributes is its beautiful outdoor courtyard. Brimming with chic design features and wrought iron furniture, it's as though you’ve stumbled upon a French chateau garden in central London. This area is often used for alfresco wedding blessings and drinks receptions, where guests shower the newlyweds in confetti and sip on chilled champagne before the call to dinner.
Top three things you’ll love about your Dartmouth House wedding:
The History. With all of its period features in place including a sweeping marble staircase and Louis XIV walnut panelling, you’ll never be short of photo opportunities.
The Location. Set in the prestigious area of Mayfair, quintessential London architecture, luxurious hotels and the lush backdrop of Green Park are all within walking distance.
The Catering. Planning your wedding day at Dartmouth House is easy, particularly as the catering is all provided in-house. Couples always praise the delicious food on offer.
Choose from four ceremony and reception options at Dartmouth House:
Churchill Room. Located on the first floor, this picturesque event space features antique walnut panelling, an ornate fireplace and crystal chandelier. The room is also licensed for wedding ceremonies and amplified sound making. (70 dinner, 100 cocktail)
The Long Drawing Room. This is the largest event space on offer at Dartmouth House. Painted in a beautiful duck egg blue, the regal room features sash windows overlooking Charles Street, historic fireplace and carved high ceilings. (100 seated, 150 cocktail)
The Small Drawing Room. Adjoined to The Long Drawing Room, this is an intimate area decorated in a similar baroque style. If a large capacity is required, the double French doors can be left open to create one continuous room. (50 seated, 70 cocktail)
The Courtyard. The courtyard is an exciting surprise at the back of the mansion house. Paved with attractive light stone and decorated with a water fountain and seasonal flower displays, it’s a glorious space for summer weddings to take place. (150 cocktail)
