{"id":219776,"date":"2018-01-25T07:00:26","date_gmt":"2018-01-24T20:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/uk\/real-weddings\/kelly-and-owen-incorporate-australiania-into-rustic-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-17T12:28:11","modified_gmt":"2022-03-17T01:28:11","slug":"kelly-and-owen-incorporate-australiania-into-rustic-wedding","status":"publish","type":"uk-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.co.uk\/real-weddings\/uk\/real-weddings\/kelly-and-owen-incorporate-australiania-into-rustic-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Kelly and Owen incorporate Australiania into rustic wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Kelly and Owen, both 29, were keen to make their rustic wedding at Swallows Nest Barn on September 10, 2017 their own.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI liked the idea of the wedding looking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.easyweddings.co.uk\/WeddingDecorations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rustic <\/a>and didn\u2019t want to conform with the typical wedding malarky,\u201d explains Kelly. \u201cI suppose some people would say me and Owen definitely have our own style going on, not sure how I would describe it but most of our guests would say the wedding was \u2018very you\u2019 which I take as a compliment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With strong roots in Australia \u2013 they lived together as a couple Down Under for 18 months \u2013 the design was influenced by their time there. \u201cFor the tables I wanted big copper lanterns, with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.easyweddings.co.uk\/WeddingFlowers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">foliage<\/a> scattered around them. Part of this was fern from around Bradgate Park the other was eucalyptus which tide in with Australia,\u201d says Kelly. \u201cThis was also incorporated within the bouquets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Owen was in charge of choosing the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.easyweddings.co.uk\/articles\/ten-top-tips-fabulous-first-dance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> first dance song<\/a> \u2013 which he did perfectly, says the bride. \u201cHe chose <em>Lay it Down<\/em> by The Reuben\u2019s an Australian band, which was the first gig we ever went to together.
