{"id":206164,"date":"2016-09-02T07:00:24","date_gmt":"2016-09-01T21:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/uk\/real-weddings\/homemade-lara-and-darren-deliver-a-rustic-seaside-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-17T10:53:37","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T23:53:37","slug":"homemade-lara-and-darren-deliver-a-rustic-seaside-wedding","status":"publish","type":"uk-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.co.uk\/real-weddings\/uk\/real-weddings\/homemade-lara-and-darren-deliver-a-rustic-seaside-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Homemade: Lara and Darren deliver a rustic seaside wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Lara Gibbs and Darren Carwardine travelled to the other side of the world to meet.<\/p>\n<p>The Bath couple, both aged 30, met while visiting New Zealand for study. \u201cMy friend recognised him from Bristol where we were at university and I went with her to say hi because he was clearly a hottie,\u201d laughs Lara. \u201cWe had never met in Bristol despite being there for four years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Five years later they were engaged on a cold day in Pembrokeshire, on a clifftop with a sapphire <a href=\"http:\/\/www.easyweddings.co.uk\/WeddingJewellery\/\">ring<\/a>. \u201cWe don\u2019t really like to overdo romance but that day was pretty perfect,\u201d smiles Lara. There began their rustic seaside<a href=\"http:\/\/www.easyweddings.co.uk\/WeddingPlanner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> wedding planning<\/a> for June 19, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>They married at the bride\u2019s parents home in Dinas Cross on the coast with their beautiful garden and a marquee. \u201cOur rustic, homemade wedding was all about our favourite people being in our favourite place,\u201d explains Lara. \u201cIt was certainly not the most lavish wedding but there were 125 wonderful people by the sea, in the sun, drinking great wine \u2013 so what\u2019s not to
