He was a carpenter,\u201d laughs Jen. \u201cWhy he thought I would be more impressed by that \u2013 I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But whatever the motive, it worked a treat, with the pair becoming a couple and travelling around <a title=\"EasyWeddings.com.au\" href=\"http:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Australia<\/a> together.<\/p>\n<p>Their weekday wedding on October 2, 2014 was held on a Thursday at The Shireburn Arms, Hurst Green. \u201cWe would not have been able to afford our venue had we got married on a Saturday,\u201d explains Jen. \u201cThe <a title=\"Nine hidden wedding costs that couples often overlook\" href=\"http:\/\/www.easyweddings.co.uk\/blogs\/easy-weddings-blog\/general\/nine-hidden-wedding-costs-couples-often-overlook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">money we saved<\/a> on the venue allowed us to afford other things that were important to us, such as a live band and a good photographer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before the celebrations the couple wed at St Peter\u2019s Church, Salesbury, where Jen\u2019s parents were married 30 years prior.<\/p>\n<p>Jen had a specific vision for her wedding styling \u2013 nothing to be matching! \u201cI knew that I didn\u2019t want everything to be very uniform and matching, because that\u2019s just not my style,\u201d she says.
