unite at Laura &amp; Ashley&#8217;s farm wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">When Adelaide pair Laura Mitchell and Ashley Thompson married, it was not only about their union, but the coming together of their two young families.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe day was not about the decorations, the cars, the venue or the entertainment &#8211; it was about four becoming one,\u201d Laura, 30, says.<\/p>\n<p>After Ashley, 34, and his daughter Madeleine asked Laura\u2019s father for permission, Ashley proposed in an elegant Adelaide venue.<\/p>\n<p>The pair wed at Bethany Lutheran church in South Australia\u2019s Barossa Valley on October 25, 2014 in front of 130 friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>Their farm wedding reception followed at the Maggie Beer Farm &amp; Function Centre in Nurioopta, where fine food was of course a feature.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur wedding was simple, elegant and most importantly honest,\u201d Laura says.<\/p>\n<p>Ashley\u2019s daughter Madeleine, 10, and Laura\u2019s son Callum, one, were an integral part of the celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe day was all about the four of us celebrating just how we had made our blended family work
