Like many modern love stories, Sabina and Tom’s began when they both swiped right.
“We met for our first date in Leeds – we officially completed Tinder!” laughs the bride.
Four years later, the York pair had a handful of close family and friends witness their legal ceremony at held at The Athenaeum on the Friday, with 140 guests invited to celebrate their relaxed garden party wedding reception at Tom’s parents’ house on the Saturday.
Sabina and Tom, aged 28 and 30 respectively, planned their wedding around the words ‘joyful, sustainable and ours’. Guests were encouraged to provide a recipe instead of a wedding gift, and asked to bring along some of their favourite foods to create a smorgasbord of shared plates at the reception.
Entertainment was a priority for the couple, who treated guests to a 17-piece big band, garden games such as table tennis and croquet and an inflatable gladiator arena for the adventurous.

Sabina perfectly paired her pearl Eliza Jane Howell gown with Irregular Choice heels.
“Several guests told us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to – including their own!”
Sabina and Tom opted for a four-tiered cheese tower in lieu of a traditional wedding cake.
