Vicki and Nick’s classic summer wedding was 15 years in the making.
“Our story began when we were 15 years old. We attended the same high school, the same lessons and were even in the same form,” Vicki, 31, says.
“Nick had to ask me out twice before I said yes, then on from the summer of 2002 we were inseparable.”
The couple were teen parents and moved out together at 17, so Vicki says getting engaged was just a “natural progression”.
“We just knew if we could get through that together we would be together forever.”
The pair chose Abbeywood Estate, Cheshire, for their classic summer wedding on July 14, 2017.
Sixty guests watched on as Nick, also 31, and Vicki finally made it down the aisle.
The couple avoided some wedding traditions, such as a bridal table, formal speeches and the standard first dance.
“From the start we knew we wanted a very relaxed, intimate wedding, a wedding that involved everyone and that wasn’t your ‘typical’ traditional wedding. We wanted to find a venue that would reflect us as a couple but with a bit of a wow factor at the same time,” Vicki says.
“It was definitely the most perfect wedding and was worth waiting 15 years for.”

Rebecca Wilson from Jodie A Smith Hair and Make-up completed the beautiful bridal look. Vicki teamed it with a princess-style gown from Wed2B and heels with a touch of sparkle from Monsoon.
“After being together 15 years we finally got the wedding of our dreams. It really was the most beautiful day, with the most perfect people, where everyone had so much fun, including both of us,” bride Vicki says.
Groom Nick completed his wedding day look with help from Next Retail.
Rather than go for one big cake, the couple treated their guests to small individual three-tier cakes with cream and jam filling.
