London couple Gemma and Tommy took a huge barn in Suffolk and turned it into a cosy romantic atmosphere for their 125 guests.
The pair, aged 31 and 33 respectively, married at their rustic romantic wedding at Alpheton Hall Barns on October 13, 2018. “I absolutely love an autumnal colour palette and knew I wanted the wedding to reflect this,” describes the bride. “We wanted the barn to feel rustic, romantic and cosy. To achieve this, we used lots of lighting to create warmth and intimacy in an otherwise huge barn. As well as fairy lighting in the roof and around the pillars, we had some low-hanging geometric lighting above the top table.”
The barn is serious wedding reception goals! “When we were on the dance floor in the evening, Tommy and I couldn’t stop looking down the length of the barn and remarking how magical it looked,” smiles Gemma.
The couple are very musical so at the ceremony had a surprise sing-a-long. “The guests sung us out to The Beatles Hey Jude,” recalls the bride. “We also had a fabulously camp entrance to the wedding breakfast that got everyone up on their feet and set the tone for the meal.”

"Style wise, we wanted our outfits to be a heightened version of something we’d normally wear. I didn’t want to look like princess bride," says Gemma.
"My brother drove us in his vintage BMW which is racing green, so went amazingly well with our scheme!" recalls Gemma.
"Tommy and I met back in early 2011 — we were introduced by my best friend in Brighton," recalls Gemma.
"We created our own photobooth area using some vintage velvet sofas, a rug and coffee table filled with props and a polaroid camera," smiles the bride.
"There was a pizza oven in the courtyard of our venue so in the evening we had wood-fired pizzas," says Gemma.
