A perfect summer’s day provided a fairy tale backdrop for Jo Hulme and Ben Mark’s country wedding.
The high school sweethearts recreated the atmosphere of a village fair with their idyllic celebrations on June 21, 2014.
The Norfolk pair wed at their local Bressingham church in a simple, traditional ceremony before they and their 150 guests hightailed it to Ben’s parent’s property – Oak Tree Farm – for some good old-fashioned fun.
“We had the most perfect English summer’s day with sunshine, roses, love, lace, cream teas, cocktails and lots of dancing,” Jo, 26, recalls.
A bouncy castle, handmade bunting and an ice-cream van added a touch of whimsy, while a traditional canvas, wood and rope marquee perfectly matched the traditional garden party theme.
Guests were served up afternoon tea, followed by a two-course meal and then a roast, cheeseboard, ice-cream and, of course, wedding cake later in the evening. “No one went hungry,” Jo laughs.
The bride says almost one year of planning went into her and 27-year-old Ben’s midsummer eve celebration.
“The wedding was a celebration of ten years together and a dedication to many more,” she says.

“Ben is a car fanatic and loves Land Rovers,” explains Jo of their unusual wedding cars.
The wedding flowers were flown all the way from Kenya as a gift from family friends!
The couple honeymooned in Sweden staying at the Ice Hotel.
“Decide at the start who is doing what and only make the big decisions together,” is Jo’s advice to other brides.
