A year before they even became a couple, Sabrina Lasche told James Lumsden she would marry him one day.
They met at a party as James, 38, was leaving where he recalls Sabrina, 30, approaching him from nowhere and saying they would marry one day. “She kissed my cheek and whispered ‘I will’’,” he says. “I looked her once over in shock and told her ‘you look amazing’,” says James. Sabrina can confirm the story and says she is now mortified by the thought of her pick-up line!
The pair married at their vintage boho wedding on August 27, 2015 at the Crab and Lobster Restaurant in Asenby, Thirsk. “I looked over my shoulder to see that beautiful girl from that party who had grown into the most beautiful woman walking towards me in arm of her father,” says James of their wedding day.
Sixty guests shared the day with the Whitby couple who injected plenty of colour into their décor, including using the flowers and decorations. Live music and delicious food kept guests entertained and amused at the bohemian-styled venue.

James says his heart “fell piece by piece” for her on their first date.
The garden surrounds of their venue made for bright, beautiful images.
“For us and our family and friends, it was the best day ever.” the bride says.
