A shared love of the great outdoors brought Lynette Leonardi and Liam Duffy together, so it was only fitting the pair get hitched in an outdoor country wedding.
There were pieces of the Queensland couple’s laid-back and casual style throughout the day, from DIY decorations to the Ariat and Wrangler boots sported by the wedding party.
Lynette, 26, and Liam, 34, say their choice of venue – Mt Uncle Distillery in Walkaman, Queensland, was perfect for their August 9, 2014 wedding with 86 friends and family.
“The ceremony, canapes, and reception were all held at different locations on the grounds of the distillery,” Lynette says. “Canapes were served with a tasting of rum and liqueurs.”
And, of course, the serene rural setting made for some spectacular wedding photos for the personal trainer and her policeman groom.
“Everything about the day encompassed things we like or represent,” Lynette explains. “Liam, my family and I made a lot of the decorations so they were exactly what I wanted.
“I would not change anything as everything was perfect.”
Post-wedding, the newlyweds self-chartered a yacht around the Whitsundays.
Of celebrant Wayne Rees, Lynette says, “He was loud so we didn’t need a sound system and he had the guests and us laughing.”
The girls teamed their stylish dresses with cowboy boots for a country edge.
DIY decorations added a personalised touch.
