“I loved science and felt that anything less than an A was a failure, whereas Tom loved sport and spent a lot of time outside the head mistress’s office,” Hannah says of her differences to Tom, who she met at school.

The pair, both aged 29, went on to win cutest couple at their high school prom — and you can see why looking at the pictures from their classic country wedding.

“After waiting for what seemed like an eternity (well it was 11 years) Tom finally asked me to marry him whilst on a trip to Venice,” smiles Hannah.

They invited 85 of their nearest and dearest to the special day on May 12, 2018 in Devon England.

“We looked at was Shilstone House in Modbury and we immediately fell in love,” explains the bride. “It was the perfect country house setting in the rolling Devonshire hills.”

Hannah, who admittedly had been planning her wedding to Tom for 11 years, says bride and grooms shouldn’t “sweat the small stuff”. “Before the wedding you can spend hours agonising over the tiniest details. In reality, everybody is there for you and nobody notices the little details that you’ve been losing sleep about.”

It was love at first site with this venue: a beautiful country house in a spectacular setting with a ceremony barn and a marquee in the gardens for the reception,” explains the bride.

Although Tom was marrying me, his true love is definitely golf,” laughs Hannah. “He is also partial to a game of darts and coming from Stoke-on-Trent, the home of darts, we felt that we needed something darts related at the wedding. When we saw the golf dart board we knew that it was perfect.”

“We knew that we didn’t want a big entrance into our reception venue and instead we opted to stand at the entrance to the marquee with a table full of tequila shots in personalised shot glasses,” says Hannah.

“We are lucky to come from a dynasty of successful marriages and so to honour that we had a display of our parents and grandparents wedding photos,” smiles the bride.

The pair completed their decor with gold, silver and cream lanterns from The Hanging Lantern Company.
