It may as well have been the paparazzi following Peter Tautor during his proposal.
He was popping the big question in New York City after all, and completely unawares to Belinda Booker, he had arranged a photographer to capture the special moment. “Wandering our way through Central Park and around the lakes we came to a patch of grass near the conservatory where a picnic rug and basket was laid out,” recalls Belinda, 26.
“Peter [33] had planned this be laid out and only then I found out that a photographer had been following us since early morning taking candid photos of us walking, talking and the moment he proposed and my overwhelming ‘yes’ reaction.”
The couple chose Hamilton Island for their destination wedding with an intimate selection of 43 guests. The March 21, 2014 event began at All Saints Chapel and continued on at the Yacht Club.
“A main priority was great food, dancing, live music and everybody to have the time of their lives,” smiles Belinda. “It was really nice having it smaller because we really got to speak to everyone on the night too.”
Belinda had her shoes custom made by Figgie Shoes. They "included where we got engaged, our wedding destination, wedding date and our new surname," she explains.
Belinda's ivory gown was a simple design from Pretty Woman Bridal Wear.
Belinda and Peter celebrated a larger engagement with 115 guests.
Peter donned a casual sand-coloured suit with tan shoes.
