A teepee under the stars was the perfect way for laid-back pair Keeley Dooley and Craig Lockey to put a boho spin on their big day.
The Brampton, Cambridge pair, who started dating on their last-ever day of high school, were together 12 years before Craig proposed on Christmas Eve, 2013.
“Craig took his time to propose!” says Keeley. “He finally popped the question on one knee whilst holidaying in Goa, watching the beautiful Goan sunset. Anyone who knows Craig knows he’s not very romantic so I was completely taken aback with joy.”
Keeley adds, “To ensure I did not find the ring, he hid it in its box, in a pair of socks, in a pocket in a pair of trousers, then in the suitcase. When we arrived he stashed it in a drawer… Five days of worry was clearly enough and he got down on one knee on Christmas Eve. It was perfect.”
The long-time lovebirds wed on August 29, 2015 at Brampton’s St Mary Magdalene Church in front of 110 guests, before 60 more friends and family joined in the outdoor celebrations at King’s Bush Farm, Godmanchester.
Despite worries about the weather, Keeley, 30, says she and Craig, 31, knew outdoor festival-style celebrations were perfect for them. “We are so glad we stuck with our original teepee idea,” Keeley says. “We wanted a relaxed, boho, festival-feel to our day which we feel we achieved.”

Keeley’s bridesmaids wore flowing blue dresses with a cute waist detail from BHS.
Boho bride Keeley paired her beautiful Suzanne Neville gown with flowers in her hair.
Craig’s tweed-style suit was given a modern spin thanks to blue accessories.
Keeley received some sage advice from her sister: Your dress is made for your special day, don’t be precious with it or let it stop you doing anything. “My dress today has seen better days but every rip and grass stain underneath tells a story,” smiles Keeley.
Keeley says when it came to the flowers, she wanted a natural look.”My florist ran with it, creating beautiful bouquets, button holes and centrepieces using old bottles, jars and a little hessian. All our flowers were perfect,” she says.
Keeley looked gorgeous for her big day with hair and make-up by Phoenix Hair Design.
“We instantly knew it was the perfect venue for us,” Keeley says of the couple’s tepee reception.
The couple’s photographer, Bedford Wedding Photography also created a fun photobooth for the event.
