It wasn’t the most romantic of introductions…meeting at a funeral.
But during a later meeting at a night club, the heart of Vincenza Cutri, 21, “skipped a beat” when she locked eyes with Giuseppe Raco, 34.
“From there a friendship started,” says Enza. “One Saturday night he had built up the courage and asked if we could go have a coffee and a chat, which I agreed.”
A language barrier was an initial challenge. “I was shocked to find out that Peppe’s English wasn’t very good and my Italian (even with both parents speaking Italian) even worse,” laughs Enza. “But then thinking back we had only spoke, or hand signalled over the loud music in the nightclub!”
But as Enza says, “love conquers all” and a few years and English lessons later, the pair were married on May 3, 2014 in Perth with a glamorous bling wedding.
“We united two cultures from the across the world as one,” describes Enza. “We had friends and family from Italy come to watch us become husband and wife – words cannot describe how loved and special we felt.”
Enza chose roses for her bouquet and her make-up was done by MAC.
The bride’s princess dress with jewels and crystals was purchased from Bride’s Selection.
“Try to keep organised and stay relaxed – there are always people to help,” is Enza’s advice for brides-to-be.
The reception was held at Crown Casino in Perth.
