Liz Round and Tom Fencott put as much love and attention into their DIY rustic wedding as they put into each other.
The loved-up couple from Dudley, near Wolverhampton, crafted their perfect day themselves on September 3, 2016.
Liz, 31, and Tom, 32, wed in the groom’s local parish church, St Andrew’s, in front of 100 family and friends.
The celebrations continued at Worfield Village Hall, which the couple and their family and friends had lovingly decorated.
“We took the time to DIY as much as possible to have personal touches and the feeling of pride that a plain hall had been transformed into something special by us and that we were able to say we did it,” Tom says.
“We put as much love into the wedding as we do for each other.”
The bare hall was transformed with hessian Liz had collected to make bunting and decorated large 3D letters spelling their names.
“For the tables we brought mini canvas on stands and Liz glittered the numbers free-hand. We Used smaller log cuttings with peonies in rustic milk jugs. We scattered wooden hearts, gold and burgundy sequins over the tables. We left mini bottles of touchable bubbles on the tables and activity packs for the children,” Tom says.
“One of the guests had commented to us about the balloons behind our seats at the table, they loved how the bride balloon was taller than the groom’s, just like us in real life…. This was a fluke and we hadn’t noticed ourselves.”

“I fell in love with the dress when I tried it on and I loved the details of the lace,” Liz says of her beautiful champagne-coloured fishtale wedding dress.
Liz’s bridesmaids’ dresses complemented the couple’s burgundy theme.
Tom and Liz met on a night out in Wolverhampton in 2008 and Tom later proposed on a trip away to Belgium.
Tom says he loves Liz’s creativity, caring personality “and her sexy long legs!”
“I really have to hand that to my beautiful wife, I helped make some decisions, sure, but really it was her vision which she executed with precision from start to finish,” Tom says of the venue decor.
