From the get-go, Manchester couple Lauren and Scott agreed venue, music and food were the most important elements of what would become their modern romantic wedding.
On June 1, 2018 Lauren and Scott, aged 31 and 37, celebrated with 180 day guests and 250 night guests at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire – somewhere they fell instantly in love with due to its expansive lake and Fairy Tale feel.
“We wanted our guests to enjoy the day as much as we did, so we made sure that we catered to everyone’s tastes in everything from the food to the music,” says the bride.
Guests were treated to an inclusive menu with something for vegan and vegetarian guests, and an incredible party led by Piano DJ featuring the best of Motown, indie, old and new dance music and even all-time favourite Disney sing-alongs.
“We both had Cheshire Cat smiles the whole day.”

Scott planned his Central Park proposal after seeing an Instagram photo of a bench with a plaque that said “And she will one day say yes”. After soliciting the help of strangers on Trip Advisor, who told him the bench’s exact location in the famous New York park, Scott put his plan into action and took Lauren there for the special moment. Of course, she said yes.
Lauren purchased her mermaid tail Mori Lee gown from The Confetti Box.
“I had always dreamed of a romantic, Fairy Tale style wedding so wanted to reflect this in the venue decoration. This meant lots of flowers and blush pink, cream and gold tones.”
